AI Software Company Teaming Rebrands to Opre

Software to Coach Professional Managers Adds AI-Generated Performance Reviews and Closes Seed Financing Round

May 15, 2024 – Nashville, TN

Opre, a coaching and leadership development software company, today announced it is rebranding from Teaming, adding AI-assisted performance reviews and has closed a seed financing round.

Opre gives managers and their teams an artificial intelligence assisted professional coach to help them improve the performance of the teams in an increasingly distributed world. Unique to Opre’s approach is a focus on the manager-to-direct-report relationship providing both a structured approach to managing as well as a proprietary 180 degree feedback system for the manager.

“People and culture problems still remain the hardest challenge for businesses and employees to overcome. We envision a future where every worker has an AI that understands their communication style, personality, skills, work, and goals. The AI suggests smart, personalized ways of working together to achieve excellent business outcomes," said Kate O’Neil, Co-founder and CEO of Opre. “All companies will use AI to perform simple tasks, but AI can’t replace us or the vitally important and innately human aspects of our job. Winning companies will support their employees with an AI to do the things only humans can — like building trust and great working relationships. This is how companies will tap into the full potential of their employees. That’s what Opre is for.“

The founders of Opre previously worked together at workflow automation software company, LeanKit, which was acquired by Planview in late 2017. The concept of Opre started there as they grew rapidly and needed a better approach to managing a scaling and distributed team with limited time to actually hone their skills as people managers.  The company counts the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs, Canada’s largest college, Humber College, and FSResidental among their early customers and has just launched AI-generated performance reviews to the product.

“We're deeply committed to the learning and development of our employees and Opre is the only platform that automatically coaches them on the things that make our company thrive -- great communication, effective collaboration, and shared focus." Said Lexi Jones, Chief Human Resources Officer of Officespace Software, the leader in office space management software. "We're really excited about Opre's release of AI performance reviews too. The employees that participated in the beta have said, 'I feel seen' after the experience."

"We wanted something that would help develop our leaders and create a coaching culture. Opre did just that and more. The automated coaching that's personalized to each employee's communication style and preferences has helped our leaders connect with each member of their team. That human connection is so important for our employees' engagement and performance." Said Brian Yuska, Chief Operating Officer at Alliance Exposition.

The company also announced the close of their $3.8M seed financing round led by Cascade Seed Fund with the participation of Nashville-based angel investors.
